Mbale School For The Deaf Board Members Bounds With Parliament Committee In Retaining Sister Rose Nelima As Head Teacher.

It looks like it is not yet over at Mbale School of the Deaf.

Today the 16th of September 2023, the Mbale School for the Deaf board members held a meeting at the school to establish a way forward regarding the controversial transfers at the School, though, pressmen were not allowed to cover the proceedings.

After the meeting, Mr Wafula Lockman, the chairman board of governors at Mbale School for the deaf confirmed to journalists that as the board, they had to go with what had been decided by the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Sports.

"This issue is now on a national level, we can't underestimate the committee and the ministers who halted the transfers. We are in the third term and we don't want our school to perform poorly due to these unrecommended needed transfers" -   Mr Wafula Lockman said.

He further noted that they will wait for the ministry together with the committee at parliament to give a final report after investigations.

"We can not welcome the head teacher who is said to have been transferred here, as the board, we shall wait for the right time and we know that time will come. - Mr Wafula Lockman.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, sister Rose Nelima (Head Teacher) said that office work has resumed in preparations for the re-opening of Schools next week.
