Presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, arrived in Bukedea today anticipating massive crowds and electrifying scenes. 

Instead, he encountered what critics have branded a stunning humiliation, with an abandoned rally space occupied mainly by his advance team and a handful of loyalists who had travelled with him.

Hours earlier, Bobi Wine had alleged that Speaker Among had mobilised “goons” to disrupt his rally. But the day proved him wrong. There were no disruptions, no hostility, and no crowds waiting for him. 

Bukedea residents simply carried on with their business, showing clear disinterest in his message.

At Kachumbala market, people barely paused to watch him pass, forcing him to cut short the stop and drive away. 

For observers, the sight of Bukedea continuing peacefully, unshaken by the NUP entourage—was seen as a resounding affirmation of Speaker Among’s political strength and enduring support in the region.
