This morning, the Woman Member of Parliament for Namisindwa District, Hon. Sarah Kayegi-Netalisire, extended support towards the construction of a community sanitation facility at YMCA Mbale. The facility will include toilets, urinals and bathrooms for public use.

Hon. Sarah donated UGX 500,000 in cash and pledged to provide additional support towards the completion of the project.

The facility is strategically located in the area where Ms. Khainza Mary, Hon. Sarah’s mother, served for many years as a staff member of Bungokho Sub-County Local Government before her retirement and where she currently resides. This gesture reflects Hon. Sarah’s commitment to giving back to her roots and supporting community development.

Although she currently serves as the Woman MP for Namisindwa District, Hon. Sarah reaffirmed her commitment to working with Uganda YMCA to support communities across the country.

She pledged to contribute to initiatives aimed at donating textbooks, expanding vocational skills training and extending piped water to disadvantaged communities.

While receiving the donation, Mr. David Mabonga, the Branch Director of Uganda YMCA–Mbale Branch, expressed his gratitude for the support and emphasized the importance of partnerships with development-oriented leaders.
