Senior Pastor Wilson Bugembe follow Archbishop Dr Stephen Kaziimba in Condolence Visit to Family of Late NRA Freedom Fighter Rtd. Maj. Babumba Henry Bwohe
Senior Pastor Wilson Bugembe of Worship House Ministries joined the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, in paying a condolence visit to the family of the late Rtd. Maj. Babumba Henry Bwohe, a distinguished National Resistance Army (NRA) freedom fighter, retired Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Air Force senior pilot, and ground flight instructor.
Archbishop Kaziimba had earlier paid a heartfelt visit to the family following the death of Rtd. Maj. Babumba, who passed away on 23rd December 2025 at Nakasero Hospital.
Pastor Bugembe, a renowned Ugandan gospel singer and the Founder and Senior Pastor of Worship House Ministries in Nansana, Wakiso District, is known for his impactful ministry and role-model leadership. For over twenty years, he has blended music and preaching to uplift and inspire many across Uganda and beyond. His visit to the family residence at Ndejje–Lubugumu along Entebbe Road was a private moment of prayer, comfort, guidance, and reflection in honour of the veteran pilot, freedom fighter, and nationalist whose life was marked by dedicated service to the nation and commitment to humanity.
He was accompanied by his Personal Assistant, Ms. Doreen Mulumba, Mr. Derick Mugambwa, Mr. Ben Mwanje of Highway College Makerere, and his security detail. Also present were Ms. Nabakooza Teopista Omuzaana-Nobert Mao's blue eyed girl in politics and business and members of the Babumba family.
During his sermon, Pastor Bugembe commended the family for the love, care, and unwavering support they gave to the deceased throughout his life, especially during his final days. He expressed appreciation to His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the financial assistance and consistent follow-up extended to the late Maj. Babumba, as well as to Nakasero Hospital for the medical services rendered.
Pastor Bugembe thanked God for the time He granted the late Maj. Babumba on earth, particularly during the liberation struggles, noting that his life was meaningful, purposeful, and impactful both within and beyond Uganda.
Before the closing prayer, Pastor Bugembe prayed earnestly for God to continue strengthening the family, enabling them to remain united, communicate effectively, avoid unnecessary conflict, and allow peace to guide them forward as they trust in God’s provision and sustenance in the absence of their father.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Kabahinda Cathy Babumba expressed gratitude to Pastor Bugembe and thanked God for granting their father spiritual peace before his passing. She also appreciated relatives, the State House medical team led by Dr. Okia, the UPDF, colleagues, friends, and Old Boys of Ntare School for their unwavering support throughout his life and medical journey.
The late’s youngest daughter, Nankya Bwohe Marian, reminded Pastor Bugembe that her June 2025 prayer request for God’s favour and spiritual wisdom upon the family still stands.
An emotional widow, Mrs. Kyarisiima Margaret Babumba, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Pastor Bugembe for the longstanding love and relationship with their family, tracing it back over twenty years to their son, Magufuri, during his time at Highway College Makerere. She noted that Pastor Bugembe also visited her husband at Nakasero Hospital, prayed for him, and that through this encounter, her husband found salvation. She further thanked His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Archbishop Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, and Hon. Safina Kenyangi of the Uganda Muslim Women Council for their support and solidarity.
Rtd. Lt. Moses Mugisha Magufuri described Pastor Bugembe’s visit as a true reflection of unconditional love for the Babumba family, stating that his presence was a powerful testament to love—“Rukundo egumeho”—as the foundation upon which healing, unity, and hope are built, both in the present and future.
Pastor Bugembe’s visit served not only as a moment of comfort for the bereaved family but also as a reminder of the values that the late Rtd. Maj. Babumba Henry Bwohe stood for: service, compassion, unity, and concern for the well-being of all Ugandans, notably through the Babumba Foundation.
As the family mourns his passing, they do so strengthened by faith, supported by community, and encouraged to carry forward his legacy of integrity, gratitude, love for humanity, and devotion to the nation. Burial arrangements will be communicated after family consultations in accordance with the deceased’s will.
