The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has praised the people of Bukedea district for their overwhelming support for President Museveni. Speaking after being elected unopposed as the Bukedea District National Resistance Movement party Chairperson of the Women's League, Rt Hon. Among expressed her gratitude to the delegates for their vote of confidence in her leadership and for reposing their trust in the President.
"I commend the delegates for their overwhelming support for our leader, Gen. Yoweri Museveni, and for electing me unopposed as the Chairperson of the Women's League in the district," she said.
The Speaker congratulated the newly elected leaders of the party, urging them to utilize their positions to improve the lives of the people and foster the growth of the party.
The district NRM elections held in a conference at Bukedea Comprehensive Stadium, saw new leaders elected into the district party positions. The conference, which had 330 delegates in attendance, was facilitated by District NRM Registrar Chairles Otai, who praised the peaceful nature of the electoral process.
Isaac Epilo, was elected as the District NRM Chairperson, and he commended the delegates for their unity and support. Others elected into key party positions include; Johnson Emong Otinga as Publicity Secretary and Dan Aide as Chairperson Youth League. *_(See full list of the elected leaders below)_* They all pledged to work together to strengthen the party and serve people.
Meanwhile, David Beecham Okwere, a candidate in the Bukedea County MP race, spoke at the conference and emphasized the importance of delivering 99% support to the President in 2026.
