On Thursday afternoon, a team from ABSA Bank Kampala paid a courtesy visit to BCU to recognize the union as a top client and strengthen their working relationship, all aimed at enhancing coffee productivity

Mr. David Wanders, the Managing Director who led the delegation, stated that the visit was an opportunity to tour the union and explore more ways to strengthen their partnership.

He highlighted that ABSA has introduced several financial products to support coffee farmers, including affordable agricultural loans, factory repairs, invoice discounts, and the acquisition of new trucks to improve coffee transportation.

BCU General Manager, Barbra Wasagali, welcomed the team and acknowledged the union’s progress in exports and banking, emphasizing that farmers receive their payments efficiently through ABSA.

She noted that ABSA’s proposals would be presented to the board for discussion and consideration. Wasagali also expressed her gratitude to ABSA for their visit and continued support.
