Mountains of the Moon University Marathon The university has today conducted a marathon in marking the third graduation under theme "To Protect the Environment in the Region and in Fort Portal City.
The Resident City Commissioner Mr Stanley Bayole flagged off the marathon from Kasese Road, New Wazarendo Offices.
The University Secretary, the Dean of students, Students and the Deputy Prime Minister also attended the marathon. The Deputy Prime Minister encouraged the student to always love the nature (Environment).
Mr. Stanley Bayole (RCC Fort Portal) also encouraged the students and the well wishers to always plant more trees and avoid the those methods of damaging the nature hence leading to soil erosion within the area. He also advised them to preach the gospel of planting more trees wherever they go.
RCC thanked the university heads for coming up with such a developmental idea that will help the community to cub the challenges that are likely to occur if protective measures aren't done and implemented.
The Dean of students also thanked the guests for honouring their invitations and they promised to keep the city and Uganda green through sensitizing people on the benefits of having more trees and conducive environment.
