Former Mbale District NRM Boss & Industrial Division City Division City Mayor, Mr Muhamood Masaaba was yesterday trounced terribly by local Washipukhu Philemon from Bumasikye Subcounty for the post of Secretary for Finance.
Masaba who has been the Mbale District NRM Chairman is in now in shock as his political career keeps dropping.
Masaba recently abandoned his Mayor position in industrial to focus on Bungokho Central seat in 2026.
Masaba is aiming at uprooting Wanda in 2026, who is currently in parliament for the first time.
Masaba stopped only 12 votes against his opponent Washipukhu Philemon 172.
Upon noticing that he was not going to make it for this seat, Masaba pulled out of the race and called for a fresh election.
According to information, the process of fresh election will take place on Tuesday next week.
Masab has also lost the position of Mbale District NRM seat, this was after he declared it vacant.
According to our reporter, the election process turned very violent, prompting the security to call it off.
