𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙒𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙢𝙗𝙞 𝙎. 𝙒𝙖𝙠𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙪 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙉𝙍𝙈 𝙇𝘾5 𝙈𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨.

I take this opportunity to extend my sincere congratulations to 𝙈𝙧. 𝙒𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙚 𝙏𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙮 for winning the NRM primaries for LC5 Chairperson of Mbale District. It was a competitive process and the people have made their choice. I respect their decision and remain grateful to all who stood with me.

Let me also clarify that I do not intend to contest as an independent candidate in the upcoming general elections. Leadership is not only about holding a political position. It is about serving with purpose, wherever we are placed.

We cannot all be Members of Parliament, LC5 chairpersons or councillors at the same time. That does not mean our contributions are any less important.

To my fellow professionals and colleagues who may not have succeeded:

If you're a teacher, go back to class and teach with dedication.

If you're a doctor, go back to the hospital and serve with compassion.

If you're a lawyer, remember our canon: "𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦, 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦." Let’s go and dispense justice.

If you're a traditional healer, return to your shrine and continue serving your people.

To the youth, who now constitute the largest population segment not just in Uganda but globally, I urge you; find something to do. Start small, start now whether it is one chicken, one goat, one cow, a bakery or any other honest hustle. The journey begins with what you have. And I want you to know, I am available for consultation or guidance anytime you need support or direction.

When the people choose another person, it’s not a rejection of your worth. It simply means they have taken a different path  and that’s okay. 

Sometimes, it opens new doors and gives us more time to focus on the other important things we’ve neglected.
