Mbale District NRM Boss Wambogo Warns Aspirants: “Vote Rigging Will Land You in Jail”

Security Tightened Ahead of Hotly Contested July 24th NRM Primaries.

With tension building ahead of the NRM party primaries slated for July 24th, 2025, Mbale District NRM Chairperson Mr. Wambogo Moses has issued a stern warning to all aspirants: "vote malpractices will not be tolerated".

Speaking during a closed-door security meeting with local council and councillor aspirants at the district NRM offices, Wambogo made it crystal clear that any individual found attempting to rig votes will face immediate arrest and prosecution.

“This is not a game. Anyone planning to manipulate the results should rethink. We are working with security agencies to ensure free and fair primaries,” Wambogo cautioned.

The chairman’s message comes amid rising concerns over alleged past misconduct during tallying. Addressing these allegations, Wambogo dismissed claims that journalists were previously chased from the tally center, stating that the NRM office welcomes all accredited media personnel.

“Let it be known—our doors are open. We are ready to work with everyone, including the press, as long as they are officially accredited,” he clarified.

In a passionate appeal, Wambogo also urged all registered voters to show up in big numbers to exercise their democratic right and help shape the future of the party.

“This is your moment to speak through the ballot. Let’s strengthen the party through transparency and unity,” he said.

As the primaries draw near, all eyes are now on Mbale to see whether the NRM will deliver a peaceful, credible, and people-driven electoral process.
