Mbale District Nrm Boss Moses Wambogo Hailed For Peaceful & Transparent Party Primaries Amidst Chaos In Other Regions

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairman for Mbale District, Mr. Moses Wambogo, has received widespread praise for successfully overseeing peaceful and transparent party primaries for Members of Parliament in the district.

True to his earlier pledge that only genuine winners would be declared, the district party leadership delivered a credible and orderly electoral process. Winners were announced in all four key constituencies:

𝘽𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙤𝙠𝙝𝙤 𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝: Wokuri Geofrey

𝘽𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙤𝙠𝙝𝙤 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙡: Masaba Muhamood Mutenyo

𝘽𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙤𝙠𝙝𝙤 𝙉𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝: Wazemba Hussein Wachagi

𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙈𝙋: Miriam Mukhaye Wangisi Massa

Significantly, the election saw three incumbent NRM flag bearer MPs lose their positions in Bungokho South, Bungokho Central and Bungokho North, with only the District Woman MP seat retained by the incumbent, Hon. Miriam Mukhaye who ran as Independent with a saucepan as her symbol in the previous general elections after losing the flag to Musuya Soobi Annet Florence in party primaries.

Mr. Wambogo’s leadership was characterized by transparency and inclusivity. Ahead of the primaries, the party held a series of meetings with all aspirants, guiding them through the electoral and security guidelines. Mr. Wambogo personally traversed the district, attending campaign rallies, engaging voters and preaching the message of peace, discipline and unity.

He consistently emphasized the integrity of the party’s Electoral Commission and warned candidates against electoral malpractice. “Let the people decide,” he said. “We shall protect the will of the voters, not schemes of rigging.”

He also appealed to the electorate to remain calm and make informed choices based on leadership quality and service.

As the district prepares for the general elections, the NRM primaries in Mbale stand out as a model of orderly and credible intra-party democracy; thanks largely to the leadership of Mr. Moses Wambogo.
