In Mbale District, Masaba Muhamood has been declared winner and NRM flag bearer for the Bungokho Central MP seat.
The former industrial city division mayor, and city businessman, Masaba Muhamood has been declared winner in ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primary elections for Bungokho Central in Mbale district.
The NRM on Thursday held primary elections across the country to elect flag bearers for the 2026 general elections.
In a hotly contested race, Masaba secured 10,625 votes, representing 60.6% of the total votes cast.
He defeatrivhis other rivals, Wamono George who garnered 6,972 votes, former minister Welikhe Kafwabusa scored 5,593, Waira scored 633 votes, Muleyi 930 votes, Wambede 1,533 votes, incumbent Wanda Richard 1,498 votes.
