Uganda Police have cleared the homecoming ceremony of Deputy Prime Minister Rebecca Kadaga scheduled for 19th September in Jinja and Kamuli, but have banned processions to prevent traffic disruptions and ensure public safety.
The Police have cleared the homecoming and Thanksgiving ceremony of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East African Community Affairs, Rebecca Kadaga, but have prohibited processions during the event scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2025, in Jinja and Kamuli Districts.
In a September 17 letter addressed to Mr Peter Kisambira, the chairman of the Steering Committee for the homecoming, the Inspector General of Police stressed the importance of maintaining law and order, noting that thousands of attendees are expected.
Originally slated for September 17, the event was rescheduled to September 19 and will take place at the Kamuli Municipal Council playground. While granting clearance, police outlined strict guidelines to ensure public order and safety.
