The political atmosphere in Mbale District is filled with excitement and jubilation today as Hon. Wandwasi Robert, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Bungokho South, Mbale District, was successfully nominated to contest for the same position in the forthcoming 2026–2031 parliamentary term.
Wandwasi was nominated on the independent ticket and he appeared at the Mbale District Electoral Commission offices at exactly 10 a.m and got Nominated at 11:30am, accompanied by his supporters and agents.
His nomination was officially confirmed by the Returning Officer for Mbale District, Anne Tusingwire, who declared him eligible to run for the position of Member of Parliament for Bungokho South.
What You Need To Know:
In 2021, wandwasi was elected in parliament on the nrm ticket, unfortunately, he lost the nrm flag in the just concluded nrm primaries and decided to run as an independent candidate, thoug with the nrm ideology according to him.
