Capt. Mukula issues Statement in Response to Nkuba Kyeyo Suudiman Lukwago Over Alleged Odinga Poisoning Propaganda

Flt. Capt. Mike Mukula has finally issued a statement in Response to Nkuba Kyeyo, Mr.  Suudiman Lukwago, who alleged that former Kenya presidential candidate, Raila Odinga was poisoned by him.

What You Need To Know:

Raila Odinga, who was at the forefront of Kenyan politics for more than three decades and made five unsuccessful runs at the presidency, alleging that he was cheated of victory in every instance, died on the 15th of October,  2025 at 80 years.

Odinga passed away in India after suffering a heart attack, the Nairobi-based Star newspaper and other Kenyan media outlets reported.

After his death several bloggers and social media users stimulated baseless allegations of poisoning accusations.

In Uganda, Mr. Suudiman Lukwago, a Ugandan national currently residing in Boston, USA, and known to work as a ride-share (UBAH) driver and working or associated with a mental health center in Boston usa, using his TikTok account alleged that Odinga was poised by Capt. Mike Mukula.

In his video, Suudiman said, Mukula was used by Gen. Muhoozi and President M7 to poison Odinga when he paid him a visit early this year in Kenya.

Here is Mukula's Statement:

It has come to my attention that Mr. Suudiman Lukwago, a Ugandan national currently residing in Boston, USA, and known to work as a ride-share (UBAH) driver and working or associated with a mental health center in Boston usa has recently published misleading and irresponsible remarks on social media regarding the passing of the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga of Kenya.

Let me respond to this matter factually and with scientific reasoning.

First, at a time of national and continental mourning, when millions of Kenyans and Africans are grieving the death of one of Africa’s greatest political icons, such unfounded statements and falsehoods are both inhuman and politically indecent.

Science and psychology both affirm that in times of collective grief, empathy, restraint, and respect are vital for the healing process of individuals and societies. Spreading misinformation during bereavement not only amplifies trauma but also undermines the emotional and psychological well-being of those mourning.

We may have political differences, but those differences are not irreconcilable. What defines mature leadership is the ability to separate politics from humanity and to recognize that, beyond ideology, we are bound by common values of compassion and decency.

The late Raila Odinga was not only a national figure in Kenya but a continental statesman, a Pan-Africanist, and a personal friend whom I have known for over thirty years.

He stood with me during my most difficult moments including the time I was unfairly incarcerated in Luzira Prison on false charges and even sent Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o to represent him at the burial of my beloved mother in omodoi soroti Uganda ,These were not gestures of politics, but of genuine friendship and humanity.

To me, and to my family, Raila Odinga was more than a political ally; he was a true friend, a brother, and a man of conscience. His passing has left us in deep mourning and sorrow.

Therefore, to export our internal political bitterness into a time of national mourning in a neighboring country is not only irresponsible but also morally and politically bankrupt.

No sane society builds itself on mockery of the dead or the grief of others. Such behavior erodes the very fabric of civility and humanity that binds us as Africans.

I wish to categorically distance myself from the negativity and nefarious conduct displayed by Mr. Lukwago. His words do not represent the values of compassion, respect, and Pan-African solidarity that we, as Ugandans, and as members of the East African Community, must uphold.

Finally, let us remember that the post-mortem and medical findings relating to Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga’s death are matters for the Kenyan authorities and his family, and should not be a subject of reckless speculation by unqualified individuals on social media. Matters of human biology, pathology, and medical causation must be handled with scientific rigor, confidentiality, and professional integrity , not with rumor or political innuendo.

In times like this, let us stand for truth, dignity, and respect values that the late Raila Odinga lived and died upholding.

Capt. Mike Mukula

National chairman Pan African movement Uganda chapter.

Friend and Comrade of the Late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga
