Industrial Division City Mp Incumbent, Karim Masaba Duly Nominated, Promises Inclusive and People-Centred Leadership in 2026-2031


The Industrial City Division Member of Parliament race has gained momentum after Hon. Karim Masaba, the incumbent was duly nominated on Thursday by the Electoral Commission, pledging to offer inclusive and people-centred leadership once elected in parliament again for his 2nd term.

The nomination exercise took place in Half London, at the Electoral Commission offices, under the supervision, the Returning Officer for Mbale City.

Karim, who arrived at the nomination centre accompanied by supporters and well-wishers, expressed gratitude to the people of Industrial City Div. for their unwavering encouragement and belief in his leadership.

Speaking shortly after his nomination, he said hiscampaign will focus on uniting all sections of society, empowering women and youth, and ensuring equitable development across Mbale City since he is an independent candidate.

“I’m deeply humbled by the confidence and support the people of Mbale City have shown me. My leadership will be inclusive, transparent, and centred on addressing the real needs of our people,  from the grassroots to the city level,” Karim.

Karim highlighted key priorities that will define his agenda if elected, including education, health services, economic empowerment, and improved social welfare.

He promised to strengthen partnerships between communities and government institutions to accelerate service delivery.

“We must create opportunities for every household, especially women and young people, to thrive. I believe Industrial City Division can achieve sustainable progress if we work together with shared purpose and respect,” He added.

His message resonated strongly with his Huge crowds of supporters that escorted to crick grounds, where he had held a huge nomination rally.

Supporters described Hon. Karim as a symbol of hope and renewal for Mbale City politics, praising his humility, accessibility, and community-oriented approach.

Many observers believe his candidacy could inject fresh energy into the city’s leadership space, appealing to both urban voters and those in the city’s peripheral divisions.

As official campaigns commence on November 10, 2025,Hon. Karim’s message of unity, inclusiveness, and development appears set to define his 2nd term journey toward the 2026 general elections.

“This campaign is not about me, it’s about us, the people of Mbale City. Together, we can build a city that works for everyone,” He concluded.
