"I am Going To Parliament To Demand For What Belongs To Bugisu" NRM’s Nakiyi While Campaigning In Legenya Subcounty

Bugisu has featured in many writings of this government, having contributed largely towards the liberation struggles that saw President Museveni assume office in 1986.

Bugisu accommodated the president and big names of Maumbe Mukhwana, Wadada Musani and Namilundu among others, who aided the president during the tough times of the tyrannical regimes of Idi Amin Dada and Apollo Milton Obote  have appeared on the walls of fame, the Bugisu stake towards the attainment of independence of this country thus the region still lags behind

Julius Nakiyi said that Bugisu contributed largely to the attainment of this country's Independence, supporting the NRM party and therefore we must claim what belongs to Bugisu from the government, and vowed to claim what is for Bugisu

In a related development, Budadiri East Constituency NRM Mp Flagbearer, Julius Nakiyi plans to advocate for improvement of the coffee brand, the Arabica Coffee from packaging to value addition and international marketing.

Nakiyi made the statements while campaigning in Legenya Subcounty, Budadiri East.

"Bugisu Cooperative Union, together with other private players in the coffee business, are to be assisted in processing coffee beans and branding the finished product"- Nakiyi

He further noted that Coffee farmers in the region are to receive farming inputs, the fertilisers to boost production.

"We have small land, but if farmers are provided with farming inputs like fertilisers, it will improve the coffee output," he said

Nakiyi was nominated recently on the NRM ticket to represent Budadiri East Constituency in Parliament through the January 15th general elections.
