Electral Commission pulls Out Akunda Best Arnold From The Isingiro North MP Race Over Less Signatures

The Electoral Commission has disqualified Ankunda Best Arnold, a former guild president of Bishop Stuart University, who had sought to challenge the long-serving Isingiro North Member of Parliament and State Minister for Animal Husbandry, Bright Rwamirama Kanyontore.

The Commission ruled that Ankunda’s nomination papers were invalid after he submitted only nine verified voter signatures instead of the mandatory ten required by law.

The decision leaves the Isingiro North parliamentary race as a contest between the incumbent, Bright Rwamirama Kanyontore, and Anthony Rutahwiire of the Alliance for National Transformation.
