Sironko District Woman MP Race Opinion polls. Nabulo Tops As Minister Nambozo Drops



According to the survey carried in different Subcounties In Sironko District indicates 60% of the the voters don't trust or believe in their incumbent leaders due to empty promises and poor representation.

Though 84% will vote for NRM, 6% FDC 1% NUP, 9% independent & 7% others.

As professional journalists, we conducted a comprehensive survey and found out that Nabulo Aisha Lumolo, the NRM flagbearer Sironko District is still in the lead by 41%.

Who is Namboozo:

Florence Nambozo Wamala (born 14 February 1975) is a Ugandan politician and member of the parliament. She was elected as a woman Member of Parliament to represent Sironko district in 2016 Uganda general elections and was re-elected for the same post in the 2021 Uganda general elections.[1][2][3]

Phoina Banga 16%.

Phiona Banga (also known as Nafuna Phiona Banga) is a Ugandan politician currently active in the 2025–2026 election cycle. 

Political Affiliation: She is a member of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and holds the party flag for the position of District Woman Member of Parliament (MP).

2026 General Elections: She was officially nominated in October 2025 to contest for the Sironko District Woman MP seat.

Political Stance: Banga has been vocal against political violence, specifically decrying the unrest observed during recent primary elections and emphasizing that "violence cannot be used as a tool to political victory".

Key Opponents: In the upcoming 2026 race, she is competing against several high-profile candidates, including:

Florence Nambozo Mayoga: The incumbent State Minister for Karamoja Affairs and current MP, running on an independent ticket.

Asha Nabulo Mafabi: The National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer.

Sharifa Maruti: An independent candidate focused on women's economic empowerment. 

Banga previously contested for the Mbale District Woman MP seat in the 2021 general elections.

Asha Nabulo Mafabi (also known as Nabulo Aisha or Asha Nabulo Lumoro) is a prominent Ugandan politician and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer for the Sironko District Woman Member of Parliament seat. 

Political Profile
NRM Party Candidacy: In October 2025, she was officially nominated as the NRM candidate for the Sironko Woman MP seat in the upcoming 2026 general elections.

Election Status: As of late 2025, she was confirmed as unopposed within the NRM party after other internal challengers withdrew.

History: She previously contested for the same seat in the 2021 elections but lost to the incumbent, Florence Nambozo, by approximately 1,375 votes. 

Following that election, she filed an unsuccessful petition to challenge the results. 
Background and Personal Life
Family: She is the daughter of Alhaj Suleiman Mafabi Lumolo, the NRM Chairperson for Sironko District.

Marriage: She is married to Hajji Kafo Mutwalibi.

Community Work: She runs the Mafabi Asha Foundation, through which she has implemented several development projects in Sironko, including drilling boreholes, funding eye surgeries, and supporting landslide victims and teenage mothers.
