Hon.Biara Emmanuel Wepukhulu, the MP Elect Bulambuli constituency, has thrown his hat into the ring, announcing his candidacy for Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
This follows encouragement from Umukuka we Bamasaba, His Highness Jude Mudoma, who sees potential in him and had even suggested he run for Speakership.
The announcement was made yesterday 22nd, at Umukuka’s office, as he held a successful meeting with all Bugisu’s newly elected members of Parliament.

Biara Wepukhulu, MP for Bulambuli County, applauded fellow MPs for honoring the Umukuka’s call and announced his bid for Deputy Speaker, pledging to restore Bugisu’s influence and dignity in national leadership.
Hon. Khalayi Peace has emerged as a key voice of unity and purpose after joining fellow Members of Parliament-elect from the Bugisu region at a landmark leadership meeting convened by the Umukuka wa Bugisu, His Highness Mike Mudoma, at Maluku in Mbale City.
Held under the Bugisu Leadership Communiqué, the meeting brought together newly elected MPs to receive congratulations and royal blessings as they prepare to serve the region over the next five years. His Highness urged the leaders to rise above individual constituencies and work as one strong bloc of 25 MPs to advance Bugisu’s collective interests, noting that unity is the strongest path to national impact and lasting solutions.
The Umukuka further challenged the MPs to strategically position Bugisu in top parliamentary leadership roles, including Speakership, Deputy Speakership, and Chief Whip, emphasizing that coordinated leadership is critical to the development of Bumasaba.
Welcoming the call, Hon. Nabulo Mafabi Aisha, Woman MP for Sironko, pledged teamwork and revealed plans to attract investors in tourism, dairy farming, and coffee value addition to unlock economic growth across the region.
Speaking to the media, Hon. Khalayi Peace thanked the Umukuka for the visionary guidance and reaffirmed her commitment to work hand in hand with the Bumasaba cultural leadership, stressing unity, shared responsibility, and equal benefit for all Bamasaaba.
The MPs collectively pledged faithful service to their manifestos, unity in action, and tireless dedication to delivering meaningful development for the people of Bugisu.
