The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Mbale district Mr Bayole Stanley yesterday 28/1/2026 launched several projects aimed at improving the infrastructure of various primary schools in Mbale district. The projects included the construction of pit latrines and classroom blocks at different schools.
At Manyenya Primary School, the RDC and team launched a five-stanza toilet pit latrine project worth 28 million shillings. Similar projects were also launched at Bunanimi Primary School and Lwalela Primary School, costing 28 million and 25 million shillings respectively.
Additionally, a three-classroom block construction project worth 150 million shillings was launched at Namazale Primary School.
The RDC urged the contractors, including MKN Pages Company Limited and Nagabwe Construction Company, to deliver quality work within the three-month timeframe. He warned that constructors who compromise on quality would face arrest, emphasizing that Mbale district deserves better services.
"We will not tolerate any substandard work. Constructors who do poor work will be arrested. We are not arresting civil servants this time around, but contractors who demand kickbacks and deliver substandard work," the RDC said.
The RDC's message was clear: deliver quality work or face the consequences. He assured that he would supervise the projects to ensure compliance.
The launch ceremony was attended by the LCV Chairperson, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Mbale district, LCIIIs, councilors, and school management committees.
This initiative aims to improve the learning environment for pupils in Mbale district, and it is expected that the completed projects will enhance the quality of education in the area.
