President M7's decorated Minister,General Katumba Wamala pays condolense visit to NRA freedom fighter Rtd Major  Babumba was a senior pilot and ground instructor.

Gen.Katumba Wamala, the Minister of Works and Transport, has paid a heartfelt visit today, 28 Jan 2026, to the family of the late Rtd. Maj.Babumba Henry Bwohe, a retired Uganda People's Defence Air Force (UPDF) senior pilot and ground flight instructor, who passed away on 23rd December 2025 at Nakasero hospital to comfort them.


Gen.Katumba expressed appreciation to the family, the window, and others for being there for the fallen hero.Gen.Katumba furthermore noted that the children of the late must get the best  education. 

Gen.Katumba also agreed with family that such experienced military men with imeasurable sacrifices made to the country must be buried in military gazzated areas (kapeka), like the late Col.Jet Mwebaze, which the  family appreciated.


He urged the family to trust and believe that God will continue to provide and sustain them without their father's presence.

"I requested God to continue strengthening the family to remain united,  effective communication to avoid unnecessary conflicts.Allow peace to guide the family  forward",said Gen.Katumba. 


The widow, Mrs. Kyarisiima Margaret expressed gratitude to the minister for loving their family, which stems from her late husband's role in NRA collaborations. She also thanked him for the constant visits and financial assistance at Nakasero Hospital.

"I also pray for minister Katumba and his family at large for more years and God's protection"- widow Mrs Kyerisiima.

She further used the opportunity to thank His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the support rendered towards the family before and during the trying moments. 


Moses Mugisha Magufuri,son to the deceased,assured the Minister that the late wished to keep unity in the family and principles for continuity.The Minister's visit is a powerful testament of love for the bereaved family,(Rukundo egumeho).This remains the foundation upon which healing and unity are built present and future. 


Also the visit served not only as a moment of comfort for the bereaved family but also as a powerful reminder of the values that the late Maj. Babumba Henry Bwohe stood for.Service, compassion, unity, and concern for the well-being of all Ugandans  during his times.

As the family mourns his passing,they are strengthened by faith, supported by community. The family feels encouraged to carry forward his legacy of integrity, gratitude, and love for humanity.Burial arrangements will be issued once family consultations are done according to the deceased's will.
