“Although the gun used in the shooting has been recovered, the suspect Warder Anguyo Moses remains at large and is considered dangerous. Anyone with valuable information regarding his whereabouts is urged to inform the Police,” reads Uganda Prisons statement.
A warder has shot to death two of his supervisors and a wife to the Officer In- Charge of Kiboga Government Prison.
The deceased are ASP Hope Catherine (Deputy Officer In-Charge), PO1 Akishuri Bright (3rd in command) and Sarah Ayebare, wife to the Officer In-Charge.
According to the Uganda Prisons Services Spokesperson, Frank Baine, the unfortunate incident took place today, Monday, 23rd February, 2026 at about 10:00AM.
He identifies the suspect as Moses Anguyo, Warder No. 13544 whom he says opened fire on the deceased and fled leaving behind the killer gun.
