Moses Wambogo the NRM Chairman Mbale district and Patron of all National Resistance Movement Chairpersons in Bugisu Sub-region have advised Muslim believers to maintain the discipline, good conduct and devotion they have practiced during the holy month of Ramathan even after the fasting period ends.
Addressing this publication today morning at his Home , Wambogo emphasized the importance of sustaining the moral values Muslims observe during the holy month.
Mr Wambogo urged Muslims not to abandon the discipline they demonstrated during Ramathan, especially in their conduct, dress code and daily actions.
He noted that many Muslims tend to change their behaviour positively during Ramathan but return to old habits once the month ends. He therefore encouraged believers to make the good deeds and character they practiced during the month a permanent part of their lives.
The cleric also reminded Muslims about the spiritual significance of the last ten days of Ramathan, which include the highly revered night known as Laylat al-Qadr.
He called upon believers to intensify prayers, supplication and remembrance of Allah during this period, noting that the night is believed to be more rewarding than a thousand months of worship.
"Muslims should use these remaining days wisely by praying, seeking forgiveness and asking Allah to improve their lives and ease the hardships they are facing because this is the night when all angels come down to earth led by Jibril waiting for those who are asking from Allah to be given,” Wambogo said.
He further reminded the faithful about the importance of giving Zakat, the obligatory charity in Islam meant to support the needy and strengthen solidarity within the Muslim community
