Recently Jubilant scenes unfolded at Mbale Secondary School on Friday, 13th March, 2026 as administrators, teachers, parents, and students gathered to celebrate an outstanding performance in the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education results.
Whhile Speaking to jubilant teachers, parents, and students during a school general assembly on Friday 13th at the school premises, the Head teacher, Moses Buyera described the results as the institution’s best performance in many years, saying they reaffirm the school’s place among the country’s leading academic institutions.
This impressive statement forced our reporter to hold an exclusive interview with Mr Moses Buyela.
“We had critics when our O-Level rankings dropped earlier, but these A-Level results show that Mbale SS is still the best,” Buyera said. “I challenge anyone to point to another school in this region with four students scoring 20 points"
According to the available information, the top performers pursued combinations in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) and Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics (BCM).
Buyela noted that among the standout students was:- Innocent Gidudu, who scored 20 points in PCB. Overcome with emotion, he credited persistence and discipline for his success.
Another top performer, Karugana Kadhiri, who also scored 20 points in BCM, praised the teachers for their dedication.
Many other students scored between 19-16 In Sciences and non of the students scored less than 10 points, this indicates that all the students qualify to join any university in the country.
Buyera is recognized for his outstanding performance interms of causing a paradigm shift at Mbale SS, both in enrollment, academic performance and enabling the learners to access ‘All round Education’ that caters for the heart, hand and the head, infrastructure & games and Sports.
Though all looks to be well with Mr. Buyera, our inside source has been tipped off of a chain of officials who attempt to push him out of Mbale SS.
