Nine youths who are standing trial in the alleged sodomy case against paster Robert Kayanja Of Miracle Center Rubaga resumed yesterday, 23rd March, 2025 before the Mwanga 11 court with an intese cross- examination of the police's forensic expert Enock Kanene.
The youths are charged with trespassing onto his church premises and giving alleged false information to police.
As proceedings continued, the courtroom atmosphere grew increasingly charged when a forensic expert, Kanene Enock, took the stand to be cross -examined.
During cross-examination led by Chief State Attorney Jonathan Muwaganya, the court was presented with a series of communication records.
Kanene has confirmed under cross -examination that he was in frequent contact with one of the accused, Israel Wasswa, whom he also physically met prior to examining the exbhited phone and issuing a forensic report.
This revelation triggered a heated exchange, with Kanene visibly agitated as he defended his integrity insisting his report is independent.
Muwaganya started off his examination by playing a news clip by one of local TV stations which Reported that Kanene had testfied that pastor Kayanja was sharing ponography to the accused.
However, under intense questioning, Kanene clarified a critical point: “After a thorough examination of the phone, I found Videos, and others were deleted, though no one in court could identify if the videos contained pornographic material information. In one of the videos played, it continue Blood stains and toilet paper which was being placed in a toilet.
Though Kanene confirmed that several texts, Watsup messages sent by the accused ti Pastor Kayanja contained Sodomy conversations.
The prosecutor kept squeezing Kanene to elaborate more about the alleged sodomy videos shared by Pr. Kayanja.

Previously, during his testimony, Kanene told Court that he conducted a full file extraction from the Mobile phone, Model Samsung SM- G980, which was presented to him in December 2025, with the use of specialized forensic tools to retrieve data including the erased files.
In his 107 pages report presented to Court on Thursday, Kanene stated that there was sharing of videos and other messages between the phone number alleged to belong to Pastor Robert Kayanja with the other number said to belong to the accused persons.
Kanene stated, that the was requested to retrieve data from the said Mobile phone by his boss which he did following all the required procedures, thus leading to the findings in the Report.
Kanene stated that his analysis on the said gadget focused on extracting WhatsApp messages, screenshots, and communications linked to sodomy as well as the contact which was saved as Mzee.
Upon being presented the Report, on the said data extraction process, the witness confirmed that indeed it’s true, it was authored by him on 12th January 2026.
He emphasized that he appended his signature on all the pages of the report as a sign of owning the findings in it.
That the findings in the Report were that, the watsapp messages found in this phone was a communication between Ssentongo Reagan’s number 0751406503 a d 0751406503 Registered under the names of Robert Kayanja starting 22nd October 2020
Kanene also informed court that Ssentongo and the group threatened to expose the Pastor by putting up videos on various social media platforms because he had failed to give them their money as per their agreement.
Earlier on, the trial Magistrate, Adams Byaruhanga warnned the accused persons against recording court proceedings as the witness was testifying.
This followed a complaint by Chief State Attorney in the Matter that Jamil Mwandha was recording the proceedings using his mobile phone.
Last year, the same Court issued an order barring live and audio recordings during the court session. The magistrate has again stressed that he will not hesitate burning media or making them registered before entering court to avoid biased reporting.
During the court proceedings, the Prosecutor defended channel 44, which belongs to Pr. Kayanja not to be banned.
The expert also told court that the prosecutor threatened him, additionally, last year, one of the defence witnesses, Jamil, told court that the same prosecutor, Jonathan was trying to bribe him to charge his testimony to favor Kayanja, forcing the presiding Magistrate, Adams Byarugaba, to intervene, calling all parties into chambers .
