RDC Washaki's Opinion On The Alleged Fee Charges In Government Aided Schools

 There's a need for intensive sensitisation of our dear parents having children in Government schools to know that Government sends funds every term to cater for school needs. When you compare  Government funding to schools, with what private schools collect, is far higher than what private schools collects. The intention of Government and the able leadership of H.E Gen rtd Y T K Museveni President of the Republic of Uganda to introduce free education, was to make education affordable to poor families.

However, school managers and well to do parents in Government schools, have duped poor parents to believe that, the funding is inadequate, therefore pestering parents to approve illegal fees. In implementation of the resolutions of these illegal fees, some Government schools are still sending children home as way of enforcing payment. So intensifying creating awareness amongst the  parents to know that the Government sends funds, is a priority. In case parents choose to make a contribution, should be voluntary without sending children home. It's criminal to send a child home for fees, where Government has sent funds to schools.
