Nathan Nandala Mafabi has dismissed as false and misleading reports circulating on social media alleging that he will escort Jude Mike Mudoma to this year’s NAMCA Convention.
Speaking on the matter, Nandala clarified that he has always attended NAMCA conventions in his personal capacity as a respected son of the Bamasaaba, and not as part of any political or cultural arrangement involving the current Umukuka.
He accused Mudoma of allegedly seeking public sympathy through what he described as propaganda aimed at creating the impression of political endorsement and unity.
Hon. Nandala further reiterated that he does not subscribe to Mudoma’s style of cultural leadership, accusing him of restructuring the Bugisu cultural institution’s leadership system for personal interests.
According to Nandala, the changes made within the institution were deliberately intended to allow Mudoma to remain a lifetime cultural leader, something he says contradicts the values and traditions of the Bamasaaba community.
