Minister designate Hon Simon Mulongo has graced the meeting of the 16 gazetted cultural leaders of Uganda that took place on Thursday 28th May 2026 at Sheraton Hotel Kampala.
The newly appointed State Minister of Gender Labor and Social Development (Employment and Industrial Relations) Hon. Simon Mulongo spoke highly of the vital role of the cultural institutions in driving socio - economic transformation and safeguarding cultural heritage in Uganda.
Hon. Mulongo affirmed his commitment to collaborate closely with the institutions of traditional or cultural leaders, noting that these matters fall under his Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development.
He expressed deep respect for the cultural leaders and pledged to work in partnership with them for the good of all Ugandans.
It will be remembered that Hon Simon Mulongo has in the recent past written criticizing Umukuka Wa Bugisu, something his fans upon his appointment to the Ministry hoped to ride on in weakening the leadership of Umukuka Jude Mike Mudoma.
However, by attendance of this meeting and commitment to work closely with all the cultural leaders, Hon Simon Mulongo a seasoned and experienced leader and administrator has proved that he clearly knows the line between personal opinion and official position.
