KAMPALA — Following President Yoweri Museveni’s Cabinet realignment, Lira City has joined hundreds of enthusiastic residents across Lango sub-region to celebrate the deployment of Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero as Uganda’s new Government Chief Whip in tge 12th parliament of Uganda.
The swap—which moved Dr. Aceng from her initial appointment at the ICT ministry to head government business in Parliament—has sent waves of excitement through her home constituency of Lira City. Political observers around Lango sub-region note that the strategic realignment ia a testatament to integrity and her hard work.
In an official statement released by PPU on Friday sjplorters of Dr.Jane expressed profound gratitude to the President for his continued trust in the Lira City Woman Member of Parliament.
“This high-profile national assignment is a distinct testament to Dr. Aceng’s exemplary leadership, unwavering integrity, and her track record of dedicated service to the Republic of Uganda,” the statement read in part. “Lira City and the entire Lango sub-region are immensely proud of this remarkable achievement.”
Dr. Aceng, widely praised for her technical expertise and vibrant leadership as the outgoing Minister of Health, now transitions into a high-stakes role enforcing party discipline and securing voting majorities in the 12th Parliament.
Accepting the appointment on her official X account, Dr. Aceng noted she was deeply humbled by the deployment and vowed “no sleep, disciplined service, and unity in the House”.
