Bungokho South Mp Wokuri Geoffrey Holds High-Stakes Strategic Session with Constituency Coordinators!

On Saturday, the Member of Parliament for Bungokho South Constituency, 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙒𝙤𝙠𝙪𝙧𝙞 𝙂𝙚𝙤𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙮, held his maiden strategic meeting with constituency coordinators drawn from across the constituency to chart a clear roadmap for effective representation and improved service delivery.

Addressing the meeting, Hon. Wokuri expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the coordinators for their unwavering commitment, sacrifice and hard work that contributed to his resounding victory in the recent elections.

He acknowledged that, beyond the officially appointed coordinators, many volunteers from villages and parishes selflessly mobilized support and facilitated his campaigns without expecting any reward. He pledged to honour the trust placed in him by delivering the leadership and development that the people voted for.

He emphasized that coordinators will play a crucial role in strengthening communication between the leadership and the communities by identifying local challenges, gathering views from residents and forwarding information for timely action.

Hon. Wokuri noted that although he is only in his first month in Parliament and is still settling into parliamentary business, preparations are already underway to begin implementing key development priorities.

"Our focus will be on effective representation, legislation and lobbying for improved education, strengthening agriculture, expanding electricity access and improving other essential public services," he said.

On electricity, Hon. Wokuri revealed that immediate attention has been directed towards communities with faulty transformers before extending power to areas that remain unconnected to the national grid. 

Working closely with Hon. Mukhaye Miriam and UEDCL, his office has already facilitated the replacement of a faulty transformer in Bushiende, to restore electricity to Bumakika Trading Centre. He added that other affected areas, including Nabweya, Waninda, Nangirima and Lukhuna, have already been identified for intervention.

Speaking at the meeting, Herbert Musingo, the Personal Assistant to Hon. Wokuri, thanked the Member of Parliament for bringing the team together and encouraged regular constituency engagements to strengthen coordination and improve service delivery. He commended the coordinators for their dedication during the campaign period and urged them to remain patient as government processes take shape.

"This is the time to work, not merely to speak. Let us remain united and focused as we serve our people," he said.

Deo Kikane, the Bushiende Sub-county Coordinator, thanked Hon. Wokuri for convening the timely meeting, describing it as a source of motivation for coordinators to continue serving their communities with commitment and courage.

Representing Bunambutye Sub-county, Khisa Anthony praised Hon. Wokuri as a humble, approachable and listening leader. He appealed for continued unity among the coordination team and pledged his unwavering commitment to supporting the constituency's development agenda.

The meeting concluded with a luncheon hosted by Hon. Wokuri, providing an opportunity for members to interact, strengthen teamwork and reaffirm their shared commitment to transforming Bungokho South through dedicated service.
