Jubilation As Hon. Wokuri, Hon. Miriam Finally Secure New Transformer After Six Months Of Agonizing Wait

Residents of Bumakika Trading Centre in Bushiende can finally celebrate after a new electricity transformer was installed, ending six months without reliable power.

The transformer developed a fault in January and repeated efforts by the community to have it replaced had yielded no results. 

Last week, the residents sought the intervention of their Members of Parliament, 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙒𝙤𝙠𝙪𝙧𝙞 𝙂𝙚𝙤𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙮 and 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙈𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙢 𝙈𝙪𝙠𝙝𝙖𝙮𝙚.

The two leaders joined residents and engaged the UEDCL Regional Office in Mbale, where they met the Regional Manager. Following their intervention, UEDCL promptly released a new transformer, which has now been installed to restore electricity to the area.

Grateful residents praised the two MPs for their teamwork, commitment and responsive leadership.

"Today we have witnessed leaders of action, not just words. We are grateful that we made the right choice and we pledge our continued support," some residents remarked.

After overseeing the installation of the transformer, Hon. Wokuri Geofrey proceeded to Bunamono Village, Burukuru Parish, where he attended the burial of the late Agatha Namono. 

He paid tribute to the deceased, expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and thanked the people of Bushiende for their continued trust and support.

Hon. Wokuri reaffirmed his commitment to equitable service delivery and effective representation for all the people of Bungokho South.
