The monitoring exercise aimed to evaluate the progress, quality, and structural integrity of the project as it transitions into its next critical phase.
The inspection brought together key district technical and political leaders to ensure total accountability. The monitoring team included:
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), The LCV Chairperson,The Procurement Officer, The Chief Finance Officer (CFO),The Natural Resources Officer, The Engineering Department, led by the District Engineer and The Project Contractor.
The construction, which is currently in its fourth phase, has hit a major milestone. The ground floorwhich cost UGX 400 million is now fully completed. With the foundation and initial level successfully secured, the contractor is now preparing to commence structural works on the first floor.
"I want to thank the contractors for doing a great job so far. The work on the ground floor is commendable." Mr. Bayole Stanley, RDC Kapchorwa.
While expressing satisfaction with the current progress, RDC Bayole urged the construction team not to compromise on standards as they move to the upper floors. He emphasized that public infrastructure must be built to withstand the test of time.
"Keep up this good work," Mr. Bayole urged the contractors. "We need a structure that will last for generations, where the true value for taxpayers' money is clearly reflected in the quality of the building."
The engineering department and the CAO committed to continuous strict supervision to ensure the subsequent phases meet the required technical specifications and timelines.
