Kapchorwa RDC, Bayole Stanley Commissions Million-Shilling Projects, Rejects Substandard Work

KAPCHORWA MUNICIPALITY – The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kapchorwa, Mr. Bayole Stanley, has officially commissioned several multi-million shilling development projects across the municipality, while drawing a hard line against shoddy workmanship by rejecting poorly executed renovations.

The monitoring and commissioning exercise was a collaborative effort, heavily attended by key stakeholders including the Municipality Mayor, Town Clerk, Council Speaker, Deputy Speaker, local councillors, parents, and community members.

During the tour, the RDC expressed great satisfaction with several infrastructure projects that have been completed to a high standard:

Kapchesombe Health Center II Upgrade ,new Outpatient Department (OPD) block valued at UGX 134 Million  was successfully commissioned. The project, executed by Tarum Investment, stands at 100% completion and paves the way for the facility's transition into a Health Center III  .A new pit latrine constructed at Kapchesombe primary school at UGX 28 Million was commissioned at 100% completion, with the RDC noting clear value for money .A two-classroom block at Kaplesko primary school valued at UGX 81 Million  was perfectly completed by Tesla Associates Limited.

Mr. Bayole Stanley highly commended Madam Chikamoko Shaidat, the Managing Director of Tesla Associates Limited, for her exemplary work.

"This contractor must be given more contracts because her work reflects true value for money," the RDC stated, urging other local builders to emulate her standards.

In a move to protect public funds, the RDC refused to commission two projects that failed to meet the required structural and financial benchmarks:

The renovation of a two-classroom block at Kaminy primary school was rejected after it was discovered that the work did not match the financial investment and the renovation of the administrative offices of West division was flatly rejected due to poor execution relative to the funds received. The contractor was ordered to redo the entire renovation correctly.

Mr. Bayole issued a stern warning to all contractors against delivering substandard projects, noting that it wastes valuable time and will henceforth lead to severe legal penalties.

The RDC extended his gratitude to the Kapchorwa Municipality Mayor, technical teams, councillors, and the local community for their vigilance and unwavering support. He particularly praised the community members at Kaminy Primary School, who proactively raised the alarm regarding the poorly renovated classrooms.

According to Mr. Bayole, such civic vigilance is crucial in ensuring that government resources are utilized transparently and effectively to benefit the citizens of Kapchorwa.
