Keddi Foundation Founder and CEO, Steven Keddi Zuluba has said he would like to see Dr Khanakwa Sarah in parliament come 2026 as the Namisindwa representative, urging the people of Namisindwa to vote wisely. Keddi has warned of a curse that would befall the people of Namisindwa should they miss out having a brave woman of Dr. Sarah’s caliba. “My people of Namisindwa, if you fail to vote for Sarah, God will curse you, because really, this humble woman can not come to treat you freely for two weeks, where you would to Mbale hospital and spend lots of money , this is a leader that you need to represent you in parliament,  and that’s what we want as Kedi foundation, leaders with good governance”.   Kampala, Uganda: Yet to be known people have have participated in an act of dropping piglets at  ational Unity Platform Headquarters in Makerere-Kavule. One of the piglets has been marked ‘Joel 1.7 B’. Weeks now, there have been sentiments alleging that the youthful Leader of Opposition in Parliament, NUP Spokesperson Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi might have bagged ugx1.7billion to kill investigations into operations of Civil Aviation Authority. A social media campaign has been running spearheaded by for Nation Media Group Employee and Senior Journalist Dean Lubowa Ssava to expose Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi in that regard. Therefore it’s not shocking that such an act could surface amidst such a situation. This has surfaced a day before the youths’ planned March to parliament against corruption in Uganda tomorrow Wednesday 23rd July, 2024. Over 200 supporters of the NRM party in Kasese District defected to the Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), drawn by the gospel of truth spread by opposition party leaders. Victoria University has the green light to admit 81 students per year to the Law degree programme for the next nine academic years. The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has approved three new programmes, including Bachelor of Laws, to be taught at Victoria University. Vendors in Bukoto Market in Nakawa division have celebrated the inauguration of a new sanitation facility, on July 19, marking a significant milestone in their daily lives. The facility, built through a partnership between the  Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and Uganda Breweries, aims at improving hygiene and sanitation standards for the market's 323 vendors and the neighboring community.   The newly opened 8-stance waterborne public toilet block includes two bathrooms and two stances for Persons With Disabilities (PWD), four for women and two for men alongside a rainwater harvesting tank to support sustainable water use. This development has drastically improved the latrine ratio in Bukoto Market to 1:60, compared to the citywide average of 1:300 and the recommended ratio of 1:100.   State House Anri Corruption unit together with Criminal Investigations Directorate and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions have arraigned the Permanent Secretary – Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Geraldine Ssali Busuulwa before the Anti-Corruption Court on charges of; Abuse of office, causing financial loss and Conspiracy to defraud. The PS in abuse of her office irregularly added Buyaka Growers Cooperative Society among those to be paid war loss compensation in the FY 2021/22, yet it was not initially listed.  She subsequently conspired with others and irregularly made payments of UGX 3.4B meant for the Cooperative to Kirya & Co. Advocates, causing financial loss to government. She has been remanded and committed to the High Court.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today launched Lake Victoria Logistics, a company aiming at reducing the cost of transporting fuel in Uganda.  Lake Victoria Logistics was founded in May 2015 as Mahathi Infra Uganda with a vision to change the petroleum logistics for Uganda and other landlocked countries like Rwanda, Burundi and DRC that get their oil through Uganda. Geraldine Ssali Busuulwa, PS Ministry of Trade, has been brought to the Anti-Corruption Court after her arrest on Thursday. She faces charges of abuse of office, causing financial loss, and conspiracy to defraud. She is currently in the dock awaiting her plea.  The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, Ms Geraldine Ssali, has been charged with corruption linked to the misappropriation of Shs164 billion intended for compensating various cooperatives. Ms Ssali was arrested on Thursday and immediately arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court where she was charged with causing financial loss, abuse of office, and conspiracy to defraud. The Namibian Government has declined the visa extension request for the King of the Buganda tribe of Uganda, Ronald Mutebi II. King Mutebi II travelled to Namibia privately on medical grounds in April and has since been recuperating at the Okonguari Psychotherapeutic Centre. The Executive Director at the Centre, Dr. Daleen de Lange, in a letter dated July 9 to the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, requested a visa extension for King Mutebi II, which was denied. Penda Naanda, the Executive Director of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, stated that the immigration regulations made under the Immigration Control Act of 1993 provide for a maximum stay of 90 days for non-Namibians in terms of Section 9.
