While on the floor of parliament on the 10th of October 2023, the woman member of parliament representing the people of Amuru District, Hon. Lucy Akello raised a matter of national importance, where it had been alleged that Government had earlier on had allowed girls from the age of 15 years to use contraceptive. According to Dr Charles Olaro, the director for curative services at the Health ministry recently revealed that government is allowing girls as young as 15 years to access contraceptive services, a policy he also argues will reduce early pregnancies. 18 nonexistent Health Centers & 75 ghost health workers discovered in Manafwa On Gov't payroll.

The State House Health Monitoring team discovers 18 nonexistent health facilities still receiving payroll funds and identified 75 ghost health workers in Manafwa District. This revelation came after a tragic incident at Bugobero Health Center IV, where a mother died in labor due to staff negligence, demanding a fee of Shs200,000 before assisting her. Dr. Julian Nabatanzi, Deputy Director of the State House Health Monitoring Unit, shared that their two-month mission revealed numerous issues. They exposed the existence of 18 ghost health facilities with 75 ghost health workers still on the public service payroll. The situation at Bugobero Health Center IV was alarming, with Dr. Julian highlighting indiscipline among staff leading to increased child and maternal deaths. Several patients and there attendants at Soroti referral Hospital have abandoned hospital beds due to Bedbugs.  speaking to our reporters, a number of them complained that the hospital management  has failed to manage the spread of bedbugs from one word to another which is making them unconfutable  to use hospital beds. Solid waste management: KCCA acquires (10) new garbage trucks, (5) cesspool emptier and (5) tractors.   Kampala capital city Authority (KCCA) has today 31st March 2023,  commissioned 10 new garbage compactor trucks, 5 skip leader trucks, 5 cesspools emptier and 5 tractors as part of the wider effort in solid waste management in the city. The commissioning event which was held from Katale primary School play ground was attended by lord mayor, the  area Mp Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi, Executive Director, Division Mayor, City Ministers, Local leaders and KCCA Technical staff.    The 3new garbage compactor trucks bring the number to 22, meaning averagely, each of the five divisions of Kampala shall have at least 4 trucks. court pins Arua Regional referral hospital staff in Ambulance theft.

A prosecution witness has pinned staff from Arua Regional Referral Hospital and others still at large for participating in the theft of the host ambulance. In December 2021, the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court charged Alex Wadia, a driver at the hospital, Mathew Ewaru, a security guard at the hospital, and Denis Ocatre, a volunteer dental assistant, and others with five offences, including abuse of office, corruption, causing loss of public property, theft and conspiracy to commit a felony. Samuel Philliam Alionzi, a detective currently attached to Rhino Camp Police Post in Madi Okollo district, testified on Tuesday before the Anti-Corruption Principal Grade One Magistrate, Moses Nabende Mushebebe.
