Makindye Chief Magistrates Court has dismissed the case in which Events Promoter Abbey Musigunzi commonly known as Abitex was accused of negligence which resulted in the death of eleven people at Freedom City Namasuba during the 2023 New Year Celebrations. The 13 charges were on Thursday dismissed by Grade One Magistrate Igga Adiru on grounds that the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has failed to produce any single witness before the court to testify against Abitex and his co-accused Elvis Francis Juuko the Master of Ceremonies (MC) According to the prosecution Abitex, Jjuuko, and others still large were careless on the day, closing other outlets and leaving only one small gate which could not safely allow more than 20, 000 people to easily get out.   Late Mowzey Radio’s widow and singer Lilian Mbabazi is on the verge of being evicted from her rental over failure to pay her accrued rental arrears. According to Mr. Sitran Deshpande, Lilian Mbabazi’s landlord, the singer rented the house since 21 February 2018 at each month Ugx 1.5M. However, due to reasons yet to be established, since April 2023, Lilian Mbabazi hasn’t been compliant as far as paying her rent is concerned. This compelled the landlord to involve authorities, and his lawyers issued a demand notice to Lilian Mbabazi. Lawyer Sufian added that despite obtaining the demand notice, Lilian has been playing hide and seek, claiming how she has been to and fro the city, making it hard for her to fulfil her promises.

  Bruno K is hauling to the courts of law, a woman who publicly accused him of abandoning her while pregnant.   Dorah broke the silence about her failed relationship with Bruno K after the latter reportedly uttered slanderous words against her family that didn’t sit down well with her. Bruno K and Dorah were childhood friends and tried to date each other while still in high school although things failed to work out at the time. Eventually, last year in August when they met again, things somehow clicked and they have dated since and only broke up three months back. Singer/actress Evelyn Love, previously known as Evelyn Lagu passed on this morning while being rushed to Mulago Hospital.  According to family members, Lagu collapsed to death while at her home in Makindye Division. "She was taking a glass of juice while sitting on her bed and abruptly she collapsed. We drove her to Mulago Kirudu where Doctors pronounced her dead" - family members.  The body of the late is currently at the funeral home in Rubaga Division.
