Nandala In Jubilation As High Court Rules Against The Extra Ordinary Delegates Conference Called & 0rganized By Chairman Wasswa Birigwa.

On the 18th of September 2023, the High Court in Kampala further extended orders halting the Forum For Democratic (FDC) Extraordinary Delegates conference that had been organised by the party's National Chairperson, Amb. Wasswa Biringwa.

Justice Esta Nambayo in extending the order followed, when all parties appeared in court for the hearing of the main application and the court directed them on how to proceed regarding filling submissions.

The application before Justice Esta Nambayo of High Court civil in Kampala was filed by the party delegates among others Ntale Arafat Mwanje, Wante Jamal, and  Malick Ssazi.

The case was filed against the party Forum for Democratic Change, the party president  Patrick  Oboi Amuriat, and Secretary-General Nandala Mafabi.

The three aggrieved  FDC Delegates are questioning how the extraordinary National delegates conference is being organized alleging that this contravenes the party Constitution and the 1995 Constitution.

In the High Court, Justice Nambayo directed parties to file written submissions starting from 22 September 2023, for the applicants, 29 September, and 20 October 2023, for the Respondents to make their rejoinders.

Court will resume on 4th October 2023, for mention of the case.

Before the scheduling, Lawyers led by the Deputy party president for Buganda Region Elias Lukwago sneaked in alleging to represent the party and the party Chairperson Amb. Wasswa Birigwa.

However, it was hard for Lukwago to convince the court to stay during the proceedings since the alleged party Chairperson was not a party to the application and the party had instructed Lawyer Julius Galiso to represent it.

The court closed Lukwago and another lawyer out of the court proceedings.

While addressing the media, Lukwago said that, since the party chairperson Wasswa Biriggwa is not part of the application, there is no way the issued order by the Court can stop them from holding the Extra-ordinary Delegates conference.

In attendance were the party chief Whip and Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda.

The applicants whom we met at the party headquarters at Najjanankumbi celebrating claimed that the Ssemuju and Lukwago are confused.

The extraordinary national delegates conference for Forum for Democratic Change which was halted, was scheduled for today, the 19th of September 2023.

Trouble and confusion in the party started when the party chairperson Wasswa Birigwa, who is believed to have sided with Dr. Besigye accused Nandala Mafabi and the party President Patrick Amuriat  Oboi of receiving what they describe as dirty state money.
