Sironko District Woman Member of Parliament aspirant, Asha Nabulo Mafabi, has been nominated unopposed as the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag bearer ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Asha, daughter of Sironko District NRM boss Sulaiman Mafabi Lumolo, was confirmed as unopposed by NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi after her challengers decided to go as independent. 

In her address following the nomination, Asha expressed deep gratitude to God and the people of Sironko for their unwavering support.

“I thank God for His grace and the people of Sironko for always standing with me in this journey. Many candidates across the country have faced competition in the party who am I to go unopposed? It’s your prayers and efforts that have made this possible,” she said.

Asha urged the people of Sironko to remain focused and united throughout the electoral period.

“It’s not enough until it’s enough. Let us stay focused till the last day,” she emphasized.

Nabulo also pledged to continue serving the district with the same dedication and passion she has shown even before officially entering Parliament.

“I promise to remain Asha, grounded and committed to serving Sironko. Expect even greater service delivery when I am in Parliament,” she concluded.
