As fire builds up between the race of candidates captain Michael Mukula and Ecodu Calvin both vying for the position of NRM Vice Chairman Eastern Region, the state Minister for works Hon. Ecweru has today officially endorsed Captain Mike Mukula for his re-election into Central Executive Committe as Vice Chairman ,advising his rival Ecodu to stand as Member of Parliament.
Speaking to the media in Amuria where Incumbent captain Mukula was meeting the district delegates, he said “it puts us in abit of a predicament because the truth is that both are my brothers and both have their own competences.”
“if you ask me and I have said this before. I would have preferred that Calvin Ecodu be persuaded to stand for Member of parliament for Soroti city West and we then lend our support to him.” He noted
He emphasised that the city is a very critical heart beat of Teso subregion and therefore the region needs him.
“then we would propose that he allows his brother Senior Mike mukula to go back to CEC. “ he emphasised
Ecweru highlighted that the central executive committee is the policy making organ characterised by a group of volunteers where there isn’t any single pay. “it’s critical because it’s where decisions of the party are hatched.
“they hatch them from there, then make them cascade either to parliament or to parliament. That’s why it’s a very critical organ of the National Resistance Movement party.”He said
“It’s now almost late, I think the now the most important thing is to go to Kololo and do the election and once that’s done. I will still insist depending on the way the direction it will take, that Ecodu be supported to be a member of parliament for Soroti city West.”
