Speaker of Parliament of Uganda, Rt. Hon Anita Among has directed the Auditor General Edward Akol to conduct a special audit into the funds government committed and spent on Organising the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) jointly hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
Speaker Among issued this directive on Wednesday 10th September, 2026 during a plenary sitting as Parliament paid a glowing tribute to the Uganda National Football team, the Uganda Cranes for their outstanding performance at the 2024 African Nations Championship.
According to Among, the audit will inform Parliament do better planning for the 2027 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament to be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
