Former Works Minister and veteran politician, Hon Kafabusa Werikhe Michael has made a decision to withdraw from the Bungokho Central MP race.
Welikhe made it official by writing to the electoral commission to confirm his withdrawal from one of the hot spot races in Mbale District.
According to Welikhe, the decision was made after careful consideration and discussions with loved ones and family members.
It should be noted that, Werikhe secured third place in the recently concluded NRM primaries, but opted to bounce back as an independent candidate, claiming the elections weren't free and fair.
His departure from the race means the competition for MP Bungokho Central just got a bit more interesting.
The battle is now between independent candidate Wamono George, incumbent Wanda Richard, NRM flag bearer Masaba Muhamood Mutenyo, and FDC's Ben Martin Wanda.
