Jubilant scenes unfolded at Mbale Secondary School on Friday, 13th March, 2026 as administrators, teachers, parents, and students gathered to celebrate an outstanding performance in the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education results.
Speaking to jubilant teachers, parents, and students during a school general assembly on Friday 13th at the school premises, Head teacher, Moses Buyera described the results as the institution’s best performance in many years, saying they reaffirm the school’s place among the country’s leading academic institutions.
“We had critics when our O-Level rankings dropped earlier, but these A-Level results show that Mbale SS is still the best,” Buyera said. “I challenge anyone to point to another school in this region with four students scoring 20 points.”
The top performers pursued combinations in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) and Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics (BCM).
Among the standout students was Innocent Gidudu, who scored 20 points in PCB. Overcome with emotion, he credited persistence and discipline for his success.
“It was not easy, but the effort was worth it,” he said. “I hope to pursue Medicine and Surgery at Makerere University.”
Another top performer, Karugana Kadhiri, who also scored 20 points in BCM, praised the teachers for their dedication.
