Nyondo SS Students Scores Perfect 20 Points As School Posts Outstanding UACE Results

Nyondo Secondary School in mbale District is celebrating an outstanding performance in the latest Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results released by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), marking the last cohort under the old curriculum.

The school registered a historic milestone after its top candidate scored the maximum 20 points, with several other students also posting exceptional grades of 19, 18, 16 etc.

Speaking shortly after receiving the results, the school’s headteacher,  Mr. Wandulu Dismus, expressed gratitude to students, teachers, and parents for their collective efforts that led to the impressive performance.

“Our students have performed even better than last year. In 2024, the best arts student scored 19 points while the best science student had 20  points. This year, however, our top candidate, Watenga Collins, scored 20 points in the BCM/ICT combination, which is a remarkable achievement,” Mr. Wandulu Said.

Wandulu further noted that more than 10 other students got 19, 18 and 15 points in Sciences.

He attributed the performance to strong leadership at the school, dedicated and united teachers, disciplined students, and a supportive learning environment.

According to Mr Wandulu, the candidates had earlier pledged to work hard during their examinations, jokingly promising that they would write kilometres of answers a commitment he believes reflects the students’ determination and preparedness.
