BREAKING: Speaker Anita Among in Critical Condition Under Strict House Arrest – Former MP Nsereko Sounds Alarm

Kampala, Uganda – In a shocking development that has sent ripples through Uganda’s political landscape, former Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko has confirmed that embattled former Speaker of Parliament Anita Among is critically ill while confined under house arrest.

Sources close to the matter describe her condition as deteriorating rapidly, raising urgent questions about access to medical care, the circumstances of her detention, and the broader political fallout following her dramatic fall from grace.

Speaking in a detailed statement, former legislator Muhammad Nsereko, who has maintained ties within parliamentary circles, revealed that Among’s health has taken a severe turn. “The Speaker is critically ill, with blood clots in the legs & under house arrest,” Nsereko asserted, expressing deep concern over the lack of transparent information from authorities.

He called for immediate humanitarian intervention to ensure she receives proper medical attention.

Nsereko’s confirmation comes amid swirling rumors and unverified reports circulating on social media and in opposition circles.

Insiders claim Among has been battling complications possibly linked to stress, underlying conditions, or restricted access to healthcare since security forces restricted her movements.

From Power to Isolation- Anita Among, who rose to become one of Uganda’s most powerful women as Speaker of the 11th Parliament, has found herself at the center of a high-stakes political storm. Reports indicate she was placed under house arrest following tense meetings at State House, allegedly tied to her ambitions and fallout with President Yoweri Museveni ahead of key political transitions.
