Sironko: MP Nandala Mafabi transports over 700 pilgrims to Namugogo.

Each year, Christians of various backgrounds embark on a pilgrimage to Namugongo to honor the memory of 45 Christian converts (22 Catholics and 23 Protestants) who were martyred between 1885 and 1886 under the command of Kabaka Mwanga II.

Nathan Nandala Mafabi, the Budadiri West Member of Parliament, has sponsored over 761 pilgrims to and from Namugogo.

According to Rev Jackson Magombe, the Director Operations and Communication in the office of MP Budadiri West, he says 43 vehicles were flagged off on Friday morning from various parts of Bugisu region.

Magombe explains that the MP has always supported pilgrims though this time round the number of pilgrims has tripled.
