Reaction from Musamali Arnold, the Secretary General of Uganda Online Journalist Association/SACCO.

I am deeply concerned by the brutal arrest and assault of journalists who were simply doing their duty to report on the return of NUP Party President Bobi Wine.

Freedom of the press is a fundamental pillar of democracy, and such actions undermine the very essence of it. I don't know why police and the army find it complicated to cooperate with the 4th Estate, this is not the first time they have beaten up journalists.

I therefore order the immediate unconditional release of all the pressmen who were arrested today.
