Police detonate 2 bombs in kibibi, calls for more vigilance.

The Police have called for more vigilance among members of the general public, this comes after the joint security agencies detonated two suspected bombs that were aimed at harming two holy places i.e Raising gospel church owned by pastor kamomo Sam and redeemed of the lord evangelistic church located in katende and owned by pastor Magoba Francis in Kibibi sub-county.

Speaking at the weekly security presser at their headquarters in Naguru, the police spokesperson Fred Enanga attributed the incidence to the high levels of negligence exercised by the two holy places.

“it so happened that there was some bit of negligence and lack of vigilance from this church at raising gospel, because the owner of the church that is pastor kamomo Sam all along was expecting a consignment of electronics inform of speakers, microphones as well as other electronic related items for the church, so someone called semwanga drove drove him in a hypsum, they didn't bother taking the registration of the hypsum that was used in delivering these packages which could have helped us in addition, he didn’t give any details of someone who was giving them the donation.” He revealed

It's against this context that Enanga warned all members of the general public to take time and caution themselves before letting in any deliveries or packages from unknown places.

According to police one of the pastors alerted their officers in Butambala upon finding out that something wasn't right with the things that had been delivered to him.

“so when the pastor opened the package he saw there was a small box that raised suspicions and alerted our police at Butambala, good enough we responded swiftly and we managed to evacuate all the worshipers and church goers at both churches and cordoned off the scene.” Said Enanga

Its from there, that the counterterrorism police, bomb squad, quick reaction team and K9 took over, where they established the presence of the explosive materials on the said small box that was part of the three new speakers and 3 microphones that were allegedly delivered by one Semwanga who is currently on hunt by the joint security agencies.

“So a successful control and detonation was carried out on the small box and inside they established that there was a metallic food flask containing powder like chemicals that were found."Enanga revealed

According to police the second church nothing was recovered because there was nothing however, police continues to investigate the incidence.

Enanga further said that they've already caged one suspect in relation to the scary incident who is aiding their team in revealing more evidence regarding the matter.

“so far we have one suspect a 21 year old male adult who was arrested from kibibi and arising out of his arrest, we proceeded with the joint security team and we recovered exhibits of a laptop black in colour, solar panels, some phone and 3 other phones dry cells, battery of a motorcycle were actually recovered and inquiry is basically continuing in that area.” He said

He called upon the public to beware of the threat that could be caused by the ADF rebels basing on the past incidents, imploring them to be more vigilant and report to police incase of any suspicion in their areas.
