Speaker Among commends Capt. Mukula for choosing to invest in the health sector, a decision she says it supports the government's efforts to provide quality healthcare to the population

The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Among has commended captain Mukula for choosing to invest in the health sector, a decision she says that it supports the government's efforts to provide quality healthcare to the population.

Speaker Among made the above statement during  the official opening of Healing way Hospital Bugolobi, a new medical facility owned by Mukula. 

Among who was the Chief guest at the event also stressed that investing in a medical facility is very expensive and with less returns though such investment as good for the community and the whole nation at large. 

"I expressed my gratitude to Paragon Hospital, which previously managed the facility, for their contributions to our health sector. I urged the new managers to uphold these standards. I encouraged the staff to make good use of the significant investment the owners have made to ensure a return on their investment"-Said Among.

The Speaker also assured the congregation that Parliament is committed to supporting the private sector, especially those providing essential services like hospitals.

In His remarks, Captain Mukula revealed that they are in plans of expanding the facility to other major cities like Arua, Soroti and Mbareara soon.

He further noted that the facilit facility recently installed the iStar 500 compact, fully automated chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA) analyzer designed for fast and accurate diagnostic testing. 

It delivers results in about 11 minutes and processes up to 36 tests per hour, making it ideal for small to mid-sized labs. 

It features auto-sampling, real-time monitoring, and advanced anti-contamination systems.

The analyzer supports a broad range of tumor marker tests including CEA, AFP, PSA (total and free), CA 125, CA 19-9, CA 15-3, and more, aiding in early cancer detection and treatment monitoring.

Mukula noted tha the facility also has Dialysis machines for the treatment of the kidneys when they fail or can’t work properly.

The machine removes waste products, excess fluids, and toxins from the blood—things that healthy kidneys normally filter out. It also helps maintain the right balance of electrolytes like potassium, sodium, and calcium in the body.There are two main types:

   •   Hemodialysis: Blood is filtered through a machine outside the body.

   •   Peritoneal dialysis: A fluid is used inside the abdomen to draw out waste through the peritoneal membrane.

Dialysis helps manage kidney failure symptoms and prolongs life, but it’s not a cure.
