While addressing IT officers, Dr. Amina Zawedde, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of ICT, emphasized the need to build a globally competitive IT workforce that is agile, certified, and ready to lead Uganda’s digital future.
She also encouraged IT officers to continuously upskill and deepen their understanding of institutional processes to effectively drive digital transformation across government.

Today, 15 may 2025, the ministry of ICT held a strategic engagement with IT Officers from various Government Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and Local Governments at the Innovation Hub Uganda.
The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen coordination and collaboration across government ICT functions by: Updating officers on the re-designation process and evolving IT requirements, Aligning ongoing and future IT projects with national strategic priorities, Promoting knowledge-sharing and best practices, Discussing the implementation status of digital platforms, Establishing a baseline for digital transformation planning across MDAs.
This engagement underscores the Ministry’s commitment to providing strategic leadership in ICT and National Guidance, ensuring a unified and efficient approach to digital service delivery.
